All I have to say is...this is frackin awesome! Good job to whoever made it.
Also, this is far from the first cool Madonna montage video...

Celebration Tracklisting
So the tracklisting for the upcoming greatest hits collection from Madonna, entitled "Celebration", has been revealed and for me, it's a bit of a disappointment. Some may think the very idea of even having any hope or excitement about a greatest hits collection of songs you've heard countless times to be ridiculous but I can't help but care about this. Anyway, here is the tracklisting.
Disc One:
01) Hung Up
02) Music
03) Vogue
04) 4 Minutes
05) Holiday
06) Like A Virgin
07) Into The Groove
08) Everybody
09) Like A Prayer
10) Ray Of Light
11) Sorry
12) Express Yourself
13) Open Your Heart
14) Borderline
15) Secret
16) Erotica
17) Justify My Love
18) Celebration
Disc Two:
Disc One:

18) Celebration
Disc Two:
01) Dress You Up
02) Material Girl
03) La Isla Bonita
04) Papa Don't Preach
05) Lucky Star
06) Burning Up
07) Crazy For You
08) Who's That Girl
09) Frozen
10) Miles Away
11) Take A Bow
12) Beautiful Stranger
13) Hollywood
14) Die Another Day
15) Don't Tell Me
16) Live To Tell
17) Cherish
18) Revolver
Now my first problem with this is the inclusion of "Miles Away". Now don't get me wrong, I like the song. I think it's a good song. The simple fact remains though that it just doesn't feel like it belongs on this album. I firmly believe that this album should fully represent every part of her career. Which is why I am happy to see two songs from "Hard Candy" on here. That said, "Give It 2 Me" should have made it instead.
The next thing that annoys me is that, well, there's simply too much stuff from the 80s on here. Ok, it's true that Madonna has never been as popular as she was in the 80s. She could sorta do no wrong back then it seems. Every one of her songs were hits. So, of course one would expect the 80s to make the biggest showing here. Still, the decade is a bit overrepresented. A whopping 50% of the album is devoted to the decade and there are some songs that didn't necessarily need to be here. I mean, I love "Burning Up" as much as the next guy, but was it really necessary to include all 5 songs from her debut album? Also, I don't have a logical reason why, but I can't help but feel like "Who's That Girl" and "Cherish" were unnecessary as well.
Which brings me to the next thing that annoys me. How is it that only one single from her Erotica album makes the cut here? Where's "Deeper and Deeper" and "Rain"? The exclusion of both of these songs puzzles me. At least one should have made it. Also, where is "American Life"? It's the only lead single from one of her studio albums not to make the cut. I mean, I know the song was a flop and all, but I still think people know the song and that it should have been included.
Anyway, despite all of my whining, I'm pretty happy with the tracklist. Most of the songs I hoped didn't make the cut didn't. So it's not all bad. I can't wait to see the "Celebration" video. Let's all pray that Madonna actually makes a good one this time. Lord knows a good Madonna video is becoming a rare thing.

Welcome?
So I'm not entirely sure why I made this blog or what exactly I will be talking about in it or if I will ever actually, you know, use it. I suppose we'll see. And by we I mean me cause I don't foresee anybody actually reading this blog anytime soon. I think I'm a bit late to the whole blogging thing. I've really never done it before. I mean, I guess I'm technically doing it now. We...or rather I shall see what happens here.
I might as well introduce myself. My name is Nick. I'm currently attending college. I like it. I'm a bit of a horror movie geek and I am in love with Madonna. I also like good television. I'm a big fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Joss Whedon. I dislike crap television. Oh, I also like boys. I can't think of very many other things to say about myself. I spend too much time on the computer which is why it is so unbelievably odd that I haven't started a blog yet.
Anyway, let's hope I actually write things here in the future and the 15 or so minutes I've spent making this don't go to waste.
